Hello. If you want to ask or say something about 1by1 or mp3DirectCut, please do this:
Check if you have the newest version.
Look for your topic in the software documentation.

Do you have one of these problems:
Apps no longer starting after Windows 11 upate since March 2026
On some Windows 11 systems, earlier versions of mp3DirectCut and 1by1 apparently no longer started after a system update. No error message is shown. Some users reported that it worked again after uninstalling update KB5079391. Problems could also be caused by Defender's heuristics, which sometimes simply delete the executable.
What I could do was changing the binary format of the executables of the apps and the distribution self extractor. mp3DirectCut 2.40 and 1by1 2.16 were modified this way. They should run fine again, as also users report. VirusTotal detects 0 or only 1 problems with 72 engines for the files.
If the the system still refuses to run the installer, it can be opened with a ZIP tool like 7-Zip to extract the files.
Malware alarm
The original software does not contain viruses, trojans, spyware or other malware. If your scanner complains, you can check the SHA-256 hash of the original distribution file, below the download links. You can also check the executable files on VirusTotal.
How to check the SHA-256 hash
There are many tools offline and online. Windows has a built in one: Open a command line window (Shift + right click on the download folder) and type:
certutil -hashfile <Filename> SHA256See if you find your topic in the FAQ sections of this site, or by a search engine query, or by an AI request.
If these steps aren't satisfactory, you can reach the developer by e-mail which arrives under the following conditions:
The mail subject must contain "1by1" or "mp3DirectCut". Your mail must not be larger than 50 KB. In the address field of your e-mail program write "contact" (without the quotation marks) followed by the at character; then type "mpesch3" and finally a full stop character followed by the two letters of the german top level domain: de. Your request must be brief and in English or German.
I read every arriving mail, but cannot promise to reply (quickly).
